Use penne or zitti, if pennette is not available in your grocery store.
Product: Pennette (1lb or 16 oz or 454 g)
BOB RECIPE: Pennette Con Salsiccia E Funghi
(Pennette Pasta with Sausage & Mushrooms)
1 lb Pennette
1 lb Sausage (italian sweet sausage)
1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced thin
1/2 cup fresh or frozen peas, steamed
1 clove garlic, chopped fine
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup parmesan or romano cheese
salt and pepper to taste
In a large skillet, saute sausage in butter and oil over medium heat until meat is browned. Reduce heat, add mushrooms and heat for 10 minutes. Then, stir in garlic and peas and add salt and pepper.
Cook pasta according to directions. Drain and mix with 1/2 of the cheese and 1/2 the sauce. Serve immediately and top each serving with remaining sauce and cheese.
