Dinner at McCormick and Schmicks

It’s Saturday nite!  We were at Direk Gerry and wife Ellie’ house and they suggested we needed to have some fun summer nite-out moments, something different than the usual (meaning no cheap buffets lol).   We weren’t quite sure what we really wanted to do, ideas flowed (shopping was not one of them).  How ’bout a steak house dinner for a change…and for a change, Direk Gerry’s footing the bill (and no way to say no to that offer).  So we all agreed Dinner at McCormick and Schmicks at Old Orchard.   Got inside McCormick and Schmicks, saw few empty seats .  Our handsome waiter did his best to make us feel comfortable, feel at home.  And he walked us through the menu….

No sushi this time, but we had calamari for starters and also bowls of delicious clam chowder.   We really couldn’t decide on what to order for dinner and waiter wasted no time to zero us in on his favorite of ’em all, Pork Chop Chipotle Brined with Roasted Corn Salsa.   Tita Ellie and I wanted that, oh yes, pork, for a change.    And the guys settled for —  Chef’s Mixed Grilled Tenderloin Medallion, Signature Crab Cake and Grilled Salmon And Chocolate Crème Burlee for Dessert.

It was pretty thick pork and would need some more brining though, but outside was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly.  Chef’s Mixed offerings didn’t wow us at all either — and too small portions.  We enjoyed the Chocolate Creme Brulee though, how could we not!   Thanks again Direk Gerry and Ellie!
